Boundaries for Exhaustion and Psychic Healing

Updated: May 21, 2022

My 12 year old son chose this blog title, which I thought was really cool this week. So I'm going to "write to the title." A few weeks back I mentioned how important it was to have psychic boundaries, and then just days after, our local area was thrust into an emergency as a power generator triggered a fire that grew in size until several counties in the SF North Bay Area were evacuated as a safety measure.

Suddenly, speaking of psychic boundaries didn't seem nearly as important as talking about the kind of bone deep exhaustion that hits when we've been through the physical and emotional curveballs that life sometimes throws us. As a result, I wrote a little bit here, but I also did a video in our Facebook Group (which you're totally welcome to check out) specifically on tips to act on RIGHT NOW when your vital core energy has gone down to almost zero.

Meanwhile those psychic boundaries don't become any less important! When we're in an emergency, our bodies become highly sensitive feelers in order to keep us safe. For some people that looks like being emotionally sensitized, and shows up as bursting into tears, angrily raging, or being moved to help another in distress. Others become physically sensitized, finding more capacity to respond than ever before. Psychically, we also sense things before they coming. This moment, in action movies, often looks like a character saying, "Bud, I got a gut feeling about this one!" Or "I sense something on the horizon.... I just KNOW."

When you're in an emergency state, your adrenals are working hard and your "Fight or Flight" urge will cause your energy to run until it is exhausted. Having knowledge of how your psychic sensitivity works can help you to ground that energy so that you don't burn out, both in an emergency and in daily life.

The challenge in daily life when you're overly-sensitive is that you may have trouble focusing on the things that are important to YOU. You may suddenly find that the expectations, thoughts, or needs of your loved ones are pre-empting your own. You may feel your mood shift or fall flat even though nothing bad has happened--only to learn later that your loved one just got bad news. When you're psychic you NEED psychic boundaries. You need the ability to choose when you are receiving information from the world, rather than being confused and not knowing what's yours and what isn't.

To fix your psychic boundaries, begin first by recognizing that you are a magnetic being. And like magnets, you can choose a polarity. If a magnet is set to a plus, it will repel all other positives and attract and negatives. In this case, positive and negatives are names of the polarity, they don't refer to good or bad. We can also use the Chinese idea of Yin and Yang. Yin refers to a passive, inward drawing state while Yang refers to a more active, outward expressive state. The two polarities attract each other. Two Yangs will bounce off of each other. Two Yins will have no chemistry at all. But a Yin and A Yang are drawn together like meat and potatoes.

Your body is also a magnetic pole. At any given moment, you are expressing both Yin and Yang properties. However, you also have a stronger leaning in one primary way.

On the psychic field level, empathic and highly sensitive people are magnetizing from a Yin state. This passive field is what allows them, like a magnet, to draw in all of those psychic thoughts and impressions. In order to do this, you as a psychic temporarily release your sense of self, merging in consciousness and awareness with the world around you. You will stop when you feel the information you have to function safely.

To balance out your psychic stimuli, you've got to shift your magnetic polarity, and know it is safe to express a Yang energy. When you actually step more deeply into your personality and your ego energy, expressing your very human creative light, the magnet polarity changes and you become primarily Yang. Instead of using that psychic energy to remain a blank canvas, sending out psychic feelers form the Yin state, you drop that energy into your creative center and persona. You ask, "What do I want? What am I expressing? What is important to ME separately from others?" From psychic Yang state, you can pick and choose what information to receive and what you don't want to receive.

Most people who do NOT consider themselves to be psychic or intuitive, are simply functioning from a highly Yang-expressive state to begin with, even if they don't seem to be aggressive people. Because their psychic energy is expanded from their creative energy centers, and they are busy expressing energy, they aren't picking it up the psychic cues of the world around them.

To become more psychic, the Yang-expressive person simply needs to shift intention more deeply into letting go of person, and dropping back into a receptive, merged state of being with all things.

More can be said on this matter, but I hope it's making sense. Is your psychic magnet more Yin or Yang? Let me know if you have questions!
