Beltane Blessings!

This evening through the evening of May 1st is BELTANE, otherwise known as MAY DAY. The halfway point between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice, Beltane reminds us that Summer is truly on it's way.

In earth-based traditions, we tell the story of the Lord and Lady falling in love at Beltane. It's a sensual riotous holiday of bonfires, feasting, and fertility. I have many great memories of celebrating Beltane with maypole dancing, song and laughter, the gifting of flowers and kisses and friendship.

Historically, there are several traditions in Scotland around this sacred day, including the visiting and honoring of holy wells, decorating with flowers, and making prayerful offerings (including the bale fire) to keep cattle safe as they were driven out to pasture.

As energy healers, it's important to our inner balance to celebrate the bright times of year with as much joy and connection as possible. How can you do this?

Perhaps invite friends over and light a sacred fire! Pick flowers and offer cones of flowers to friends. Make a daisy chain for your hair or neck. Gather morning dew from flowers at sunrise.

Put aside this day (or the next) to connect with nature locally, and to recharge your battery by grounding into the beauty of the earth around you.

Blessed Beltane! xoxo Dailey
