January asked us to open our hearts more than ever. It demanded that we let go of old ideas and rules in order to embrace a new future that is waiting for us. We have been called to tend to our hearts, communicate through conflict, and hold our values even when we can't yet see the light.
We don't have to do more, heal more, and change more in order to be happy. Our work is to simply surrender more deeply into our own inner knowing. Just sit on the earth and breathe in tandem with the cycles of life, and the energies of creation.
Listen to your inner voice. What is it saying in this last dark shadowy eave of winter?
Like the groundhog who burrows deep into the earth, listening within, there's a place where your inner wisdom connects with all source energy.

If we can remember that all of life is a dance, then we can choose whether we're gently swaying or spinning in a wild fury. February, let's dance gently towards the springtime. Let's tend the fire deep in our bellies--and if your fire feels muted or extinguished because somehow you didn't get enough rest during the winter, then take time now to light a fresh flame within, and guard it with your life.
Humans have always needed fire. We've needed the warmth on cool nights, and the heat to break down nutrients for our supper. Likewise, the fire of our heart and inner being keeps us inspired so that we can accomplish our soul's work in this life. If you forget this critical step of being with the small flame, you'll falter later in the year.
Dance, my friends, dance. I've been dancing at home in the evenings, to soft music while magical incense curls in the air. Dance whenever, and wherever is the best for YOU to remember the joy and pleasure of being embodied. YOU are the living flame.
And lastly this month don't forget that we need the darkness. The dark womb is where babies come from. The dark earth is where seeds sprout and plants rise. Anything you don't understand now, anything that is obscured in darkness, will eventually have its time in the light. So worry less, and nurture your own roots in the dark, for a beautiful year is coming. And your future is waiting for you!
love,
Dailey
