October Message @ Healing Heart Reiki

I know we're halfway through October, but something happened for me this week that really set the season.... After returning from an amazing trip to Malaysia where it was hot and humid, my first view coming into Sonoma County was of pumpkin patches and straw bales, reminding me that Halloween is fast approaching.

The shadows grow long. Let us delight in the nurturing quiet of the year.

I couldn't believe it! The weather was too nice and warm. ...And then this Monday we had the most beautiful deep rain.

I was at a retreat at Isis Oasis, walking down to the pavilion when the downpour became especially strong, soaking halfway into my purse and drenching my scarf.

I felt an exquisite sense of pleasure and excitement as the water jumped up the legs of my linen pants. "This is a real season," I thought to myself. "And I love it! After a year of fickle teasing weather, I LOVE it."

Magic is around every corner, in October.

What time is it?

October invites us into the 4th Quarter. For healers, it's a time of inner work, the final harvest and preparation for the winter. For entrepreneurs it's the closing sprint of the year. For all of us, it's time to reflect on life.

The holidays of this season remind us that we are not alone, and that the intangible world of of our pasts, our ancestors, and helping spirits is all around us even though we can't always see it.

On October 31st, the veil that separates the world from the living and those who have passed on, is at its thinnest. If you have unfinished business with those you loved, or if you're seeking support, then this is the time to ground your energy through meditation, long walks, energy healing, and mediumship.
