3 Ways to Start 2020 Strong

2020 is right around the corner and I love to start new years with enthusiasm and hope. I absolutely don't believe people who say things like, "It's not going to be any better than the last year! We say the same things every year." Holy Goddess! Of course we do, because we have hope that THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST YEAR YET!

2019 was challenging for many. Even if you look at the numbers, they sequentially regress... 20 to 19. It was totally a year of taking one step forward and two steps back, looking at things from different angles, releasing relationships or family dynamics that had outstayed their blessings... and now we get to upgrade into 2020! This upcoming year is asking us to be totally in the present.

Here are 3 things you can do to start this particular year strong:

1. Close Up Lose Ends. 2020 kicks off an entire decade, and the energy we set now, will create a foundational energy moving forward. Decide how you want to generally vibe in the next 10 years, and close out anything that doesn't resonate with that. If you owe money, pay it if you can. If you have unresolved business with people, settle it. If you are angry at someone, forgive and release as best as you can. These can all be challenging actions, but cleaning house in every way, literally and figuratively, is especially effective at these decade turning points. Just do what you can, and do it joyfully.

2. Meditate-IN the New Year. In my childhood tradition, we would do a special meditation for the New Year. Now, if you're saying, "But DAILEY I want my 2020s decade to be filled with partying and hedonism!" then yes, please go out and party on New Year's Eve, haha. But choose 2-3 hours the day before, or the day after, to contemplate your life, get into your place of power, and get clear on whatever you need to get clear on to stay in that power.

3. Take Total Responsibility. Anyone can create New Year Resolutions or Goals, but if you have had the same goals for the past decade, then something needs to shift. Rather than setting that same goal again, and then getting lost in the year and not having the outcome, create a strategy that takes your habits and patterns into account. For example, if you want to lose weight and exercise more, but you know that you'll peter out in February due to the same habits, fears, or distractions, then ask yourself, "What changes need to happen this time around to change the story?" It's so easy to slip into a space of abdicating power around your goals. It's easy to blame that extra serving of ice cream on a bad day, or the lack of gym exercise on a bad teacher or cancelled class. It's easy to cancel vacations because you don't have the money... but in fact there are no excuses, there are just decisions. There are choices. If you have 100% resolve and you take responsibility for your actions even as you head into the first 12 days of the year, you'll create the vibrational imprint for success.

2020 holds a clever and sometimes domineering energy that, when mastered, can lead to great success and foundational mastery. It's a year you'll be able to build on in new ways. It's a year that asks for the very best that you can give it, and in return, everything from before that did not serve your highest, will easily release. Are you ready for this year?
