It's that time of year again! Are you looking for the perfect gift for your favorite energy healer? Maybe you have a best friend or partner who loves healing or alternative health! Whatever the case, here are a few ideas to get you started in choosing a great gift that will be appreciated and loved for years to come:
1. CRYSTALS, Baby!
Crystals are commonly used in energy healing to balance and align the chakras. If your healing friend is new to the world of energy healing, consider getting a set of seven chakra crystals. If they're experienced and already have a collection, consider something like an Etsy gift certificate to a crystal shop to let your energy healing friend choose their own favorites. Expect to spend anywhere from $12 to $150 depending on what you choose to purchase.
2. A GORGEOUS JOURNAL
Energy healers often use journaling as a way to track their progress and document their experiences. Consider getting a beautiful, high-quality journal to inspire their writing. Art stores often carry journals with luxurious quality paper, which will make a difference if your energy healer is highly creative or crafty. Otherwise, you can try some of the fun brands carried by stores like Target, Amber Lotus, Barnes & Noble, We'moon, or Papaya Art. Most nice journals can be found for $15-$25, although there are some really fun exquisite creative planners out there for more.
3. A MEDITATION CUSHION
Energy healers often incorporate meditation into their practice. A comfortable meditation cushion or zafu can make their meditation sessions more comfortable and enjoyable. The traditional zafu is great for energy healers that do a lot of floor work, and most healers will be happy to have more than one. I started meditating when I was around 10 years old, but we always used low wooden seats for meditation. I finally bought my first official meditation cushion in my late 30's and WOW did it make a difference! Why did I use wood all of those years?
Rectangular yoga bolsters are also a thoughtful gift, as they can be used to elevate legs during hands-on healing work, yoga practice, or constructive rest. I have to confess I love using 2 bolsters for yin yoga. Manduka, Hugger Mugger, and Gaiam are all reputable brands, or you can try looking for a bolster at discount on Amazon.
4. ESSENTIAL OILS GIFT SET
Essential oils can be used in a variety of ways during energy healing sessions, including for aromatherapy and bodywork. Look for a set of high-quality, pure essential oils. Although there are a number of brands out there, they all have different qualities. DoTerra oils continue to be a favorite for their easy and accessible blends and formulations. I also love Veriditas/Pranarom oils, and Aura Cacia which often creates really cool starter packages, but there are a number of good lines out there. Essentials can be used in bath blends, massage oils, and air diffusers.
Not sure what to choose? Try to order directly from an essential oil store online (like Aura Cacia's website!)--or go to a holistic pharmacy that specializes in tinctures, oils, and alternative healing to choose a gift package for your energy healer.
For something a little off the beaten path that energy healers will love, you can also try an oil blend that includes the healing resonance of flower essences. Try Jane Bell Essences online for light sprays that include a blend of essential oils AND water based flower essences, specifically for healing burnout and exhaustion in energy healers.
5. APP IT UP!
Purchase a subscription to a meditation or mindfulness app. Many energy healers use apps to help them stay mindful. Consider getting them a subscription to a popular app, such as Headspace or Calm. But also factor in the personal experience of the energy healer. For example, I often lead meditation and have been doing meditation for more than 35 years so I don't really depend on apps for that. However, I love astrology apps, tarot apps, and yoga apps, and have more than a few. Even though I've been using Time Passages for year, I am still considering a subscription to Chani Nicholas' new astrology app.
6. MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS
Many energy healers don't even know what holistic magazines are on the market, so a single copy or subscription is sure to delight them. Reiki News Magazine, Enchanted Living, Witches & Pagans, and SageWoman Magazine are just a few physical magazines that light up the stands. Crafty healers might also enjoy Willow and Sage Magazine. Did you know you can usually place a special order through your local bookseller and they can get these in stock for you?
While we're on the topic of subscriptions, Tamed Wild also has monthly box subscriptions that can be purchased as a gift, and include seasonal treats (digital or physical) that can be enjoyed by the more earth-based witchy healer. I know, that's not an App, but it's another awesome subscription idea.
7. SOUND CRAFTS!
A singing bowl or set of tuning forks can be so much fun. Energy healers are often a creative bunch, and I have yet to meet one who doesn't enjoy playing with sound on some level. Consider purchasing a crystal singing bowl for grounding (A or C tone). Alternately, you can purchase a set of tuning forks online, and you can be sure your energy healer will spend the next several weeks researching and enjoying this modality in their work. If you have a limited budget, just choose one tuning fork for grounding. Ohm Therapeutics or Crystal Tones are a great place to start your search for the perfect healing sound instrument.
8. TAROT & ORACLE CARDS
Earth based healers will probably enjoy Tarot Cards, which are part of an ancient metaphysical system that requires some knowledge. If you don't know much about tarot, you can get any energy healer a set of Oracle Cards instead, and they will have so much fun with them. The reason? Oracle cards are essentially the brainchild of their creators and don't require prior knowledge or experience. They often come as a small deck of artfully designed cards slightly larger than a deck of playing cards. They vary in numbers, and usually come with a book of channeled, divine inspiration from the creator. An oracle card can be pulled each day to guide or encourage the energy healer.
Choose a deck that seems to visually remind you of your energy healer. One of my favorite places to buy Oracle decks is Blue Angel Publishing, followed by Hay House Publishing. Decks from both publishing houses are reputable, and can usually be found on Amazon if you don't want to buy from the publishing houses directly. However, the publishing houses tend to have frequent sales. And of course if possible, visit your local crystal shop, bookstore, or health hub for a great selection of oracle cards to choose from, in person.
If you do prefer a Tarot Deck, beginning healers will appreciate learning through some of the most popular decks, which include the traditional Rider-Waite Tarot, the Thoth Deck, Light Seer's Tarot, Modern Witch Tarot, or Osho Zen Tarot. There are so many different decks, don't get hung up, and just choose the one that truly speaks to you for your friend.
In Conclusion
If you don't have money to purchase a gift, consider writing a nice holiday card or note. Most energy healers are heartfelt compassionate people who do the work and would love to know how things land. And most energy healing friends will be touched by kind words that encourage their light work. A heartfelt followup, or simple words of kindness make a wonderful holiday gift!
