There are dozens of fires raging in California right now. We are officially a State of Emergency, and that is no more apparent than in Santa Rosa, just a mile from our office. My heart goes out to so many of you who are in trauma, losing your homes, fearing for your lives and the welfare of your loved ones. In times like this the chaotic nature of life makes itself apparent, and we can easily feel so lost and frightened as events take us into the deep unknown. I am praying for you, with love in my heart, to receive sweet gifts and deeper alignment as the fire remakes our landscape. May your children be safe. May your lungs be clear. May your homes be safe; and if already lost, may you receive the gift of a new home filled with love. My love, and the love of Healing Heart Reiki stands with you as your find your way through this challenging time.

This weekend, our ReikiSHARE is happening! The first saturday of each month, it is one of my favorite things. As usual, it will begin at 10AM, and it's best to come on time.
However, I will be at a conference. The annual Convocation of the Temple of Isis is happening in Geyserville, Ca, and I will be there learning about Egypt. I love the ReikiSHARE so much I'd planned to come back in the middle of the conference! I realize that's a silly amount of driving, and so the SHARE will be hosted by Jennifer Webb. I wish I could be there, but I look forward to seeing you later in the month.

October has arrived. For me this is always a magical month; it is a month of initiation and transformation. When I was a young girl, I received my Buddhist intiation during this month, making a vow to consciously create value in my life. An October many years later, I received my initiation as a Priestess of Isis, standing before two wise women who, with shining eyes, passed on the blessing of a spiritual, energetic and blood lineage unbroken since Ptolemaic Egypt. My life was never the same again.
I am a brave woman. I face life with excitement for the challenges presented, seeing these as gifts. October has always held my greatest blessings. My child was born in an October. I have pushed the edges of my personality, of my heart, and witnessed my deeper Becoming as a spiritual being.
This October, I see the accelerated pace of the changing world around me and, like many others, I am tempted toward deep sorrow for the sheer amount of pain and suffering we are able to witness so easily due to technology. We are not really meant to see the suffering of the entire world at our fingertips, but now that we can, we must find ways to open our hearts even larger in compassion for this precious, transient world.
Who knows what initiation will come for me this October. One year I was initiated through new love. Another year I bore life and still another, I lost it. Everytime, there is transformation.
I find myself staying close to the earth. I have thrown myself down into the grass, cheek pressed against daisies and clovers. I've let the ground hear my beating heart, and I've slowed my entire life down this year, aware that this winter holds--for all of us--big transformation. Big change. Slowing down, I feel power gathering in my veins as my spirit becomes still and focused. I want to share the delight and bliss of all that I feel brewing within, but it's not yet time. Parts of me are still coalescing.
Summer has passed quickly, and as fall sets in, I continue to teach Reiki classes, absolutely in love with how powerfully they awaken and catalyze my students. I sit quietly with private clients, hearing the song of the universe swirling around them as they open and share their journey with me. I fall in love with their bravery and vulerability. I love this work more and more each day.
Slowing down, I feel new things brewing underneath my skin. Animal totem medicine that I thought was gone, stirs and awakens in me. Sleek tiger prowls beneath my skin. Yellow butterflies dance in my third eye. Maggots eat away the decay of old stories, old desires, and deep wounds, before being cleared out by birds dancing through my guts and heart. They pick away all that is not of me, helping me to know my boundaries as a psychic, so I can pulse with new life, filled with golden blessings. October has come.
It is a time to become still, and to listen within. This is what Spirit says to me in the dark, quiet night, and so I listen. I look forward into October, curious about what new initiation awaits in the dark.

The New Moon is in Leo as of 2:46am PDT today, sunday July 23rd. As we move toward the heart of our summer season, the New Moon in Leo reminds us that expressing ourselves is an important part of the human experience. While we all have different ways of doing so, human expression, connection, and affirmation, help us to feel loved and validated.
This moon cycle is a powerful one, including several solar transits that support a boost in resetting the critical way our ego is currently at work in our lives. Take advantage of the subtle moon energies to meditate on your "Lion's Roar." Find a spot today, whether it is inside of your car, or on a mountain top, to breath into your solar plexus (stomach region!), and whatever in you is needing expression, to roar like a lion. Let this roaring sound carry your intention to stand your ground and to create in your life. Go roar with friends today! You can continue this practice as we head toward the full moon, and use it as a boost when you're feeling anxious about self expression.
New Moon Blessings!

The Full Moon is in Capricorn at 9:06pm PDT today, saturday July 8th. As the Full Moon makes its pit stop in Capricorn, the deeper themes of family energy continue to swirl. Capricorn is by nature more methodical, direct, and grounding, so the deep listening we began to explore at the new moon may now begin to result in a desire to take action on shed or clear the people, situations, and 'stuff' that do not serve that inner truth.
You may also harness the energies of this moon by realizing how grounding it can be to heal or re-affirm family connections. When we begin to make peace with family, we release old generational patterning that has been passed down and infuenced us unconsciously. In this way, we make space for our unique soul self to dance freely thorugh life.
Full moons are a great time to celebrate your life and to affirm how far you've come. Even the driven Capricorn needs a bit of fun, so no matter what supremely important work reveals itself at this juncture. . . Don't forget to dance beneath the moon!

This morning I awoke from a lovely dream. I was entering a beautiful ancient temple, with white walls shining in the sunlight. There was a lake to my left, around the outside of the walls. Through the great pylon existed an indoor/outdoor space with green palms and other plants growing in raised rectangular troughs. The space was cool and shaded, with nicely finished mud-brick. There were priests and priestesses doing various things, the way you'd feel walking onto a college campus, where everyone is going somewhere, you just don't know where. Priest/ess was a title as functional and practical as garbage man or food server; everyone was in their trade.
Nobody really cared about my being there. Some people glanced curiously because I was wearing my nighties. But as I walked forward, I knew I'd been here before, in this physical place, many hundreds of years ago. My body remembered it as a safe and loving place, and my mind was tickled, but having trouble recalling everything. Snippets of friends, teachers, and events were there and gone before I could catch the memories.
All I knew was that this place was purely good. It was purely devoted to fostering great joy and inspiration for its people. The Priests and Priestesses, the students and officials that this place produced, were touched by this light and believed that goodness was possible in their greater country despite jealousy, human fear, and political corruption.
This isn't some long-lost utopia. It was a place grounded in a real world, just daring to be bright. We have places like this today! For some of us, we received this same kind of transmission of love and safety from our public schools. Grade schools, trade schools, universities, libraries, they are just as sacred as our churches and mosques. This transmission of love and hope that comes through these places is so worth fighting for.
We may not all have the energy to be the activists we dream of, but keep taking actions, little actions each day, to encourage that transmission of love. Those actions might be political phone calls, but they may also including thanking the teachers of your children, or donating a meal to your librarian staff, or stopping to witness when people are burning out, and letting them know it's okay. Our humanity is what will heal us.
This vibration of love is not abstract. It is a real thing, just as powerful as any weapon, and yet when our love is wielded with true intention, it weaves together rather than destroys.
Hope and love are just as powerful--no, MORE powerful--than fear. In a time where fear is trying very hard to reign, let us not forget.

The New Moon is in Cancer at 7:31pm PDT today, friday June 23rd. This special moon reminds us to really listen to our inner primal self for cues on what will allow us to feel safe, happy, and successful. Sometimes what we need more than anything is to pull a cover over our heads and snuggle deep into our own thoughts. Other times, being with friends & family is what feeds the peace of that deep inner part of us. The greatest challenge is just to listen within. Our ego self often makes plans in advance. We tell people we'll go out, or that we can have things done, and yet we also have to get quiet to hear what's going on inside. When we can train our ego self to listen to this quiet inner voice, then blessings really begin to flow.
As always, new moons are an excellent time to set intentions so you can do that if called. But must importantly, take a moment to listen to that quiet inner feeling today.
New Moon Blessings,

The May Full Moon happens this wednesday! It's a Full Moon in Scorpio at 2:42pm PDT. This moon calls us to go ever deeper into our emotional landscape. Scorpio's energy is watery but deep, holding the mysteries of all of those things we often feel but don't know how to put words to. We may find that all of the practical work we've been trying to do up to this point keeps getting interrupted by our deeper emotions, which refuse to remain hidden. Guess what, it's time to let that energy out, and let it wash through over the next few weeks to clear whatever constructs you've made in your life that don't actually serve you.
The best way to move emotions out of the body is through physical action. This is the perfect night for steamy sex, a football game, or any environment that safely allows you to scream, shout, and let it ALL out. Figure out how you do that... it's a personal tool, different for everyone, but once you know how to release that emotional buildup, you'll create better health, power, and peace in your life.
Full moons are a great time in general to celebrate your life and to affirm how far you've come. Even if you're emotions are feeling a little volatile, go outside with some headphones or a drum; Don't forget to dance beneath the moon!
